This is not a classroom. It is not a guided trek. And there is no one here to pitch your tent for you.

The S.O.S.C. Mountain Survival Challenge is a grueling, realistic simulation designed to test your mental toughness, adaptability, and raw outdoor skills in a controlled but highly stressful wilderness environment. You will be pushed out of your comfort zone, stripped of your heavy backpacking luxuries, and forced to face the unpredictable mountain elements head-on.

If you’ve taken the training, read the books, or practiced the knots then it’s time to find out if your skills actually hold up when fatigue, cold, and dark set in.

Details of the Challenge

  • Gear Restriction: You enter the zone with a strictly limited kit. No massive multi-day packs, no freeze-dried gourmet meals, and no modern camping luxuries. You survive on the essentials.

  • Challenge Phase: Once you cross the entry point, the clock starts. You will have a ticking window of daylight to secure your perimeter. Locating clean water, foraging firewood for dry fuel, and building a weather-resistant shelter before the mountain temperature drops.

  • Real-Time Scenarios: The wilderness doesn’t play fair. Throughout the challenge, organizers will inject sudden, simulated emergencies—such as sudden trail washouts, thick canopy navigation, or treating and evacuating a “casualty” using improvised field litters.

  • Survival Psychological battle: The ultimate test isn’t physical—it’s mental. Managing stress, resisting panic under exhaustion, and maintaining absolute situational awareness as a team are the metrics that dictate who finishes.

MSC Itinerary

Insertion & Kit Inspection
08:00 AM – Day 1

Arrive at the staging area. Gear check is strict—any unauthorized gear is confiscated. Safety protocols and the rules of engagement are laid out. You step into the bush immediately.

Phase 1: Securing the Core
10AM:00 PM – Day 1

Teams are dropped into the challenge zone. Your immediate priorities are shelter, fire, and water. The terrain is demanding, and resources are scarce.

Midnight Operations
7:00 PM Onwards – Day 1

Survival doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Expect Night hunting & Foraging, emergency camp relocations, or sudden tactical scenarios in pitch-black mountain conditions.

Phase 2: The Endurance Phase
Day 2: All Day & Night

Resources run low. You must find new water sources, move your camp to a new location, and handle sudden emergency tasks. Expect midnight signaling drills in the pitch black.

Phase 3: Improvised Rescue & Extraction
06:00 AM – Day 3

Fatigued and tested, teams must navigate out of the zone while handling an intense, simulated wilderness rescue and casualty transport scenario across rough terrain.

Final Debrief & Patching
02:00 PM – Day 2

Return to safety. A brutal, honest breakdown of team dynamics, skill execution, and decision-making. Those who endure receive the official S.O.S.C. Challenge Patch.

⚠️ Disclaimer: This is an endurance event. While safety responders are shadowing the entire operation to manage real-world medical emergencies, you will experience cold, hunger, physical fatigue, and intense psychological stress.
