S.O.S.C. Survival Training School | Registration Terms & Conditions

By registering for a course with Survival & Outdoor Skills Cebu (S.O.S.C.), you are entering into a formal agreement that ensures the safety, quality, and logistical success of our training programs. Because outdoor education involves significant advance coordination—including gear staging, site permits, and instructor scheduling—we adhere to the following professional standards:

1. The Notification Window (Cancellations)

To manage our overhead and ensure that gear and staff are properly allocated, we require a specific “Lead Time” for any change in your attendance. All requests must be submitted in writing via email to info@soscebu.com.

  • Single-Day Public Courses: We require notice at least 7 days (1 week) prior to the course date.
  • Multi-Day Classes, Overnight Trips, & Private Events: Due to the complexity of food prep, campsite logistics, and specialized gear, we require notice at least 14 days (2 weeks) before the event begins.

2. Refund & Processing Fee Structure

Running a survival school involves “sunken costs” that occur long before the first knot is tied. Our refund policy reflects these real-world expenses:

  • Cancellations Made BEFORE the Deadline (7/14 days out): * You are eligible for an 80% refund.
    • The remaining 20% is retained to cover non-reversible bank/online transaction fees (10%) and administrative labor/event preparation (10%).
  • Cancellations Made AFTER the Deadline: * A 50% non-refundable fee is imposed. At this stage, S.O.S.C. has already committed funds and resources specifically for your participation.
  • Within the “Immediate” Window: * Once you are inside the 7 or 14-day window (depending on the course type), no transfers, reschedules, or refunds are permitted. At this point, your spot is fully locked in and all resources have been deployed.

3. Reschedules and Transfers

  • Early Requests: If you wish to move your registration to a future date outside the 7/14-day window, a processing fee will apply to cover the administrative work of re-booking.
  • Late Requests: Once you are inside the cancellation window, the spot is considered “final,” and transfers are no longer available.

4. S.O.S.C. Guarantee (School-Initiated Cancellations)

Outdoor training is subject to the elements. If S.O.S.C. is forced to cancel a program due to extreme weather, safety hazards, or internal conflicts, we take full responsibility. In these cases, you will be offered:

  • A 100% full refund, OR
  • A reschedule to a future date completely free of charge.

5. Product-Specific Overrides

Please note that certain high-demand challenges or specialized workshops may have unique refund or cancellation terms listed directly in their individual product descriptions. If a specific product page contains different terms, those will override these general conditions.

Acknowledgment of Agreement

Please be advised that these Terms and Conditions are an integral part of the enrollment process. By completing and submitting your registration form, you formally acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the policies outlined above.
