This program covers all the basics and foundation to roping and knot tying skills. Including
- practical knots
- Equipment familiarization
- basic anchoring
- foot/knee ascender and other systems
- rappelling devices
- rope safety
- self rescue techniques and more
Prerequisite: NONE
What do I need to bring for this class?
We suggest that you come dressed to spend a day outdoors where weather can change. Each student will also need to povide their own meals for the entire day of this activity (preferably packed meals), water for hydration, some snacks, and something to takes notes with if you wish.
Other things to bring:
Training materials: Utility rope/Static kernmantle rope (at least 8mm, 4-5meters in length), leather hand gloves (cheap hardware gloves will do), extra clothing/shirts, PPE if available, and you may also bring your own climbing equipment if you wish to test and use them during training.
If you can’t bring or borrow a kernmantle rope with you, we can lend you one from our staff.
Age Requirements?
This course is appropriate for ages 13+. Minors must be accompanied by a participating guardian or parent.
